From the Desk of Mosby: Officially Retired—and Loving It

I’m checking in with some very important news: after five years of dedicated service with Leader Dogs for the Blind, I am officially retired.

For five years, I worked as a guide for my companion, who is deaf and blind. She counted on me every day, and I showed up steady, focused, and ready to work. It was an important job, and I’m very proud of the life we shared.

But now, it’s my turn to enjoy a different kind of schedule.

Retirement includes playtime whenever I feel like it, leisurely walks with no deadlines, long naps in the best sunny spots, grass rolls on demand, and the occasional high-stakes squirrel chase.

In other words, I’ve traded working hours for dog hours—and so far, I highly recommend it.

Thank you to everyone who has cheered me on along the way. I’ve earned every wag, treat, belly rub, and peaceful afternoon coming my way—and I fully intend to collect them all. 💛

Here’s to every hardworking dog who has completed an important chapter and finally gets to enjoy the simple pleasure of just being a dog.
