Mom’s Version of Dog Yoga

My mom and her dogs do yoga.

Well… not traditional yoga.

It’s more of a combination of yoga, juggling, balancing, twisting, turning, and trying to keep four leashes from becoming one giant knot.

As Mom walks the four of us, she twists, turns, lifts one leg, spins around, and somehow keeps track of FOUR LEASHES at the same time.

Honestly, I think she was one walk away from joining the circus.

Now, before you get too excited, the Dog Yoga has NOT been eliminated.

There are still some walking partners who have not quite mastered all the rules of proper walking protocol.

So there is still plenty of twisting, turning, stopping, starting, and occasional creative positioning happening on our walks.

BUT… the leash juggling is officially under control!

Mom came up with a trick for walking multiple dogs:

And somehow, this little setup has changed everything.

The Dog Yoga remains.

The leash juggling? Much better.

Which means Mom can actually enjoy walking with us instead of spending the entire time trying to figure out which leash belongs to which dog and why everyone suddenly decided to go in a different direction.

And let me tell you…

Mom not juggling leashes makes her MUCH more enjoyable to walk with.

She smiles more.

She complains less.

And there is significantly less yelling of:

“WHOSE LEASH IS THIS?!”

So yes, Dog Yoga is still part of our daily routine.

But at least Mom has finally gotten the juggling portion of the workout under control.
